The filter widget in Advanced Grid Builder (AGB) populates with a list of terms from a chosen WordPress Taxonomy. The widget operates in two modes, depending on the state of the ‘Link to taxonomy archive page’ checkbox.
When this checkbox is unchecked, clicking on a term in the widget will dynamically filter the grid to display only cells with the selected terms. If you have load more options configured, each additional page will also be filtered as it loads.
When the checkbox is checked, the widget acts as a menu and will navigate to the archive page of the selected term when clicked.
Dynamic Filter Taxonomy
Enter a taxonomy to populate the widget. Please note that the widget will be empty if your content source doesn’t include any posts with terms from the chosen taxonomy.
Taxonomy Labels
Add a label with the taxonomy name to the start of the widget for easy identification.
Link to Taxonomy Archive Pages
Check this field to have the widget act as a menu with links to the corresponding term archive page. For this to work, archive pages must be enabled for the chosen taxonomy, and a suitable archive page template must be configured.
TIP: You can place an AGB grid on the archive page for a taxonomy with the query source set to loop to create a grid with matching content.
