Magic Fields

Magic Fields

Magic Fields can be selected from the ‘Filter term slug’ drop down input field.  When your Dyggrid runs, it replaces the magic fields with corresponding values that are relative to the page that is currently loading.  This is useful when adding your Dyggrid to an archive page that would have different values for the magic field depending on the loading page.

Fields

%post_slug%

This field will return the slug of the currently loading post or page.

Use cases:

  • You want to build a photo gallery Dyggrid with images that are related to the current page.    Using the Media Library attachment details page, you can add a category to those images you want included that has the same category term slug as the page slug on which it should appear.

Magic Fields

%attached_terms%

This field is replaced by the list of terms in the same taxonomy you have set in the “Taxonomy filter” field that are attached to the current page.

Use cases:

  • You want to include  Dyggrid in your post that has all other posts in with the same Taxonomy terms as the current post.  Let’s say you are using the ‘Category’ taxonomy, and the current page has the ‘latest_news’ term, you would configure your Dyggrid with:
